The Patriot Post® · Did 'Never Again' Really Mean Never Again?
We knew about it. Hitler’s systematic slaughter of the Jewish people could not go unnoticed. But America and other nations ignored it, focusing instead on ending the war. When the concentration camps were being liberated, it could not be ignored any longer. What we saw was horrific!
Jews from across Europe were rounded up, shipped to camps, stripped of everything, and murdered if they were of no use to the Nazis. The rest were slave laborers until they could not work, then slaughtered. Nations and even Christians tried to pretend they didn’t know, but ultimately they could no longer pretend.
The world took note of this attempt at the complete destruction of the Jewish people. The world said, “Never again.” The Jewish people began the “return” to their homeland of thousands of years. The newly formed United Nations passed a resolution on November 29, 1948, providing for Arab and Jewish states. Israel declared its independence on May 14, 1948. Since that day, the entire Arab/Muslim world has tried to annihilate the Jewish nation.
The Bible calls the Jewish people the “apple of His eye.” God says He will defend Israel, and He has been faithful, both in the Old Testament and now in modern history. Time and time again, the Muslim nations, greatly outnumbering the Jewish state, have been utterly defeated. At times, when all looked hopeless, God rescued His people.
There was a time when “the sun never set on the British Empire.” After WWII, Britain tried to hinder Jews leaving Europe for Israel. The decline of the British Empire began when it turned its back on God’s people. Joe Biden, his administration, and America need to choose which side we will be on. If we turn our back on Israel, we too will suffer the same fate.
It only took two generations since WWII to go from being a nation that valued freedom to now having thousands of our children and grandchildren and a whole lot of immigrants turning the nation into a country that supports the genocide of an entire nation. How could this possibly happen in a span of only 80 years?
America was born on religious freedom. The Bible was our handbook for life — raising children to love God. Starting with the Mayflower Compact in 1620, the Declaration of Independence in 1776, and the Constitution in 1787, faith and freedom worked together to make America the envy of the world.
But there came a time when a small, vocal group of people set out to undermine the foundations of the nation and what bound us together as a people. Too many of us who called ourselves Christian chose to retreat from the cultural battlefield. We were cowards when the Left began to dismantle the Bible, legalize what was sin, and call what was once evil good and what was good evil (Isaiah 5:20). We were silent!
Something has gone horribly wrong in America. As we watch our children taking to the streets, calling for the murder of the Jewish people, could this be a wake-up call? Could this be the time when we who claim the name of Jesus hit the floor on our knees and pray fervently for a visitation of the Holy Spirit to revive us? Lord, bring the next Great Awakening to America! (II Chronicles 7:14)
Something to pray about!
