The Patriot Post® · Kerry Heads for Greener Pastures
When a Democrat presidential candidate fails, there’s always a place for him at Climate Inc. We can use the “him” pronoun because Hillary Clinton didn’t avail herself of this get-rich-quick scheme, but Al Gore and John Kerry did. The latter has been responsible for more climate policy in America — and maybe the world — over the last three years than anyone, so his coming departure from the Biden administration is notable.
Gore called Kerry’s efforts “heroic,” so there’s that.
Kerry has served as Joe Biden’s climate czar, er, “U.S. special climate envoy” for three years. He’s the first to ever hold that post, which Biden created on his National Security Council, showing the true-believer dedication the president has to the ecofascist cult. Over the weekend, the 80-year-old announced that he will retire from the post on a date to be determined in the coming months. Instead, he’ll take an undefined advisory role in Biden’s reelection campaign, likely focused on his 81-year-old boss’s dedication to the cult.
As for climate change, few issues are less important to voters, but few issues cost voters as much economically — which means, at least in that respect, they ought to pay more attention to it.
Kerry has been at the forefront of a lot of the government’s moves to tackle this supposed crisis. At the recent UN Climate Change Conference in Dubai, Kerry was instrumental in crafting yet another international deal on regulating emissions. For the first time ever, though, the deal calls for phasing out fossil fuels, which the ecofascists routinely blame for climate change, but which have saved and greatly improved countless lives over the last century.
At a previous UN summit, Kerry led the charge to redistribute wealth from the First World to the Third World as recompense for causing climate change.
“Kerry also played a pivotal role in restarting formal climate talks between the United States and China, the world’s two largest greenhouse gas emitters,” The Washington Post tells us. Yes, and China will continue to be the world’s biggest emitter because, even for the ChiComs, economic advancement takes precedence over the sensibilities of Western snobs like Kerry.
The climate czar is also a Grade A hypocrite. The Post adds, “Over the last three years, Kerry has kept up a fast-paced schedule, flying around the world to cajole other countries to curb their planet-warming pollution.”
He flies to tell you not to.
What else did Kerry accomplish? Axios, which first broke the story of his departure, paraphrases his own haughty boasts that “Biden has amassed a trailblazing climate record at home and globally.” Axios not-so-objectively informs readers that Kerry’s job was tough because he “needed to reestablish U.S. credibility on climate change after the Trump administration backed out of the Paris Agreement.”
Donald Trump was right to back out, but Team Biden’s policy has been to do precisely the opposite of any and all Trump policies. And in that particular case, Kerry negotiated the Paris Agreement in 2015 as Barack Obama’s secretary of state, so it was personal to him.
Before retiring, however, Kerry will head to the favorite destination of all uppity white elites who want to control the world: the World Economic Forum in Davos.
One final bit of hilarity. In 2004, Kerry didn’t go anywhere without touting his Vietnam record. We wrote extensively about why his record there was nothing to brag about (here’s just one example), especially because he was guilty of lying about it, slandering his fellow soldiers upon his return to America, and betraying them in illegal negotiations with the North Vietnamese. Nevertheless, Kerry’s “reporting for duty” act sure did make for some great mockery.
We were always particularly amused by The Wall Street Journal’s James Taranto, who as a matter of course referred to Kerry as “the haughty, French-looking Massachusetts Democrat who by the way served in Vietnam.”
Well, plagiarism is all the rage these days, and CNN came awfully close with its final paragraph on Kerry’s retirement: “Kerry also served in the Navy in Vietnam as a gunboat officer on the Mekong Delta and was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts.”
Go ahead, ask him about it sometime. The emissions of hot air will be off the charts.
