“If only the authors of our Constitution had thought ahead enough to realize that it was necessary to put in a clause mandating that every bill must concern one, and only one, topic. Border funding? Sure — but nothing else in the bill. Funding to help out Israel? Fine — but nothing else in the bill. Want to give Ukraine some help? Sure — but nothing else in the bill. It would also have been a good idea to set a maximum page limit, perhaps with specific exceptions. If most laws were limited to, say, one double-spaced page, no one in Congress would have any excuse to fail to read the thing before they decided how they were going to vote. Heck, they could pass dozens of bills in one day instead of a single, unread, 400-page behemoth.” —Florida

“Jack Smith’s case against Donald Trump is laughable for multiple reasons, not the least of which is that there’s been no official determination that January 6 even was an ‘insurrection.’ Read Section 5 of the 14th Amendment: Congress — not podcasts, not CNN, not a special prosecutor, not the Democrat Party — makes that determination, passing ‘appropriate legislation’ to disqualify anyone from office due to insurrection. But even though, as the cliche goes, you can indict a ham sandwich (especially a Republican ham sandwich, and most particularly in DC), the Left shouldn’t celebrate the DC Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that Trump’s presidential immunity ended with his presidency.
