The Patriot Post® · January 6 Radicalized Bob Iger
Intrepid journalist Christopher Rufo has uncovered a company video in which Disney CEO Bob Iger seems to admit that what happened on January 6 was a radicalizing factor for him encouraging The Walt Disney Company to become political.
EXCLUSIVE: In January 2021, then-Disney chairman Bob Iger told employees he was committing the company to “taking a stand” on politics because of January 6, then praised himself for making Black Panther, which he said was an example of “diversity and inclusion.” pic.twitter.com/Rb41540cGW

Our first thought is: The BLM riots had been raging, CHAZ had taken over city blocks, and people of all races and creeds were falling victim to the violence. Poor black neighborhoods were taking the brunt of this, and yet it was January 6 that was the sparking factor? Perhaps that’s because the mainstream media was so insistent that the BLM riots were “mostly peaceful” as cities burned in the background of their newscasts.
It’s important to note that at the time of this video, Iger was on his way out of his position as CEO. (He has since returned as CEO.) His failed successor, Bob Chapek, was handpicked by Iger, and it was under Chapek that Disney really rode hard into the culture war agenda and began to face its much-deserved pushback from America at large. Chapek was the one who wrote a letter openly doubling down on the LGBTQ+ agenda at Disney and excoriating Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Act.
One could almost feel sympathy for Chapek … almost. After all, the politicization of culture war issues was Iger’s push. However, everything that has happened since then has exposed the extreme rot in the Disney C-suite. The executives running the once-great entertainment company seemingly hate their own intellectual property and have wantonly destroyed excellent franchises by using woke ideology as their guiding star.
Clearly, the C-suite elites don’t really even like children. Nothing that has been made recently has been for kids but for the messages and ideology Disney wishes to convey. Iger and his leftist cadres care more about pushing culture war perspectives than about telling good stories or keeping the product about what’s best for children. That’s partially because Disney executives and creatives think LGBTQ+ indoctrination, New Age sensibilities, and radical feminism are good for children.
As Hot Air’s David Strom put it: “This isn’t about January 6th, Democrats, MAGA, or anything else. It is using up the resources of a great American corporation in order to fight for a radical ideology most Americans despise because Disney’s top management despises American culture.”
Iger and Disney continue not to get the message. Iger will say good things out of one side of his mouth, but then travesties like “The Marvels” and “Wish” get produced that double down on wokeness.
As the battle for the Disney board seats is hotly underway, the soul of the company is on the line. Iger retaking the reins isn’t slowing down the fiscal disaster that Chapek and those he allowed to destroy this company created. They only have themselves to blame.
