It’s pretty clear that members of the radical Islamic organization ISIS are to blame for the terrorist attack on a concert hall in Moscow on Friday. Indeed, just hours after the murderous attack by four heavily armed assailants, Islamic State Khorasan (ISIS-K) claimed responsibility.

So, who is ISIS-K? Well, it’s the same offshoot of ISIS that was responsible for the 2021 suicide bombing at the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul that killed 13 U.S. service members and 170 civilians during Joe Biden’s awful surrender and retreat from Afghanistan.

Following that terrorist attack, Biden’s State Department assured the American people that they could rest easy and that the Taliban would prevent this group of jihadi terrorists from becoming a problem. As Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated at the time, “The Taliban has committed to prevent terrorist groups from using Afghanistan as a base for external operations that could threaten the United States or our allies, including Al Qaeda and ISIS-K.”

Well, to be fair, ISIS-K’s attack on the Moscow concert hall, which has left more than 130 dead, didn’t happen on U.S. soil or to one of our allies. But the fact that these guys were able to infiltrate Russia and commit this deadly act of terror should have Americans concerned.

Indeed, with Biden’s wide-open southern border, which has allowed millions of illegal aliens to flow into the U.S., the prospect of jihadis being among their ranks is probable, if not certain. Just weeks ago, FBI Director Christopher Wray was on Capitol Hill warning Congress of “dangerous individuals entering the United States.”

Wray even noted a certain group: “There is a particular network that has — some of the overseas facilitators of the smuggling network have — ISIS ties that we’re very concerned about, and we’ve been spending enormous amount of effort with our partners investigating.”

ISIS, Barack Obama’s erroneously dubbed “JV team,” was eventually beaten back by the Trump administration after having established a short-lived caliphate in Syria and parts of northwestern Iraq. But it has once again arguably become the face of radical Islamic terrorism.

Russian strongman Vladimir Putin, who just won reelection in a, ahem, landslide, appears to be using the terror attack to gin up support for his war with Ukraine. While the Russian people may be duped by Putin’s dubious claim that the terrorists were working with Ukraine — a charge Ukraine vehemently denies — a warning by the U.S. embassy of a potential jihadist attack in Moscow two weeks ago further undercuts Putin’s contentions.

Putin was warned, but he chose to brush off the warning as “provocative statements of a number of official Western structures about the possibility of terrorist attacks in Russia." As he said on March 19, "All this resembles outright blackmail and the intention to intimidate and destabilize our society.” And now more than 130 Russians are dead.

Meanwhile, the Biden administration is effectively doing the same thing by keeping the U.S. border open. When will Washington start taking seriously the rising threat posed by millions of illegal aliens entering the country? Will America have to suffer a similar horrific event for Democrats, who have effectively become open-borders apologists, to once again understand that a nation with no borders is a defenseless nation?
