The Patriot Post® · 'Fact-Checkers' Rush to Defend Biden, Trans 'Visibility'
We all know “that guy.” The one who says, “Well, technically…” whenever we say “always” or “never” or “a thousand times” to hyperbolically describe something for effect, and in so doing, he entirely misses the point. Either you are that guy, in which case you ought to get a sense of humor and storytelling style and quit annoying the heck out of people, or you want to slap that guy.
Collectively, the Leftmedia “fact-checkers” are that guy.
Well, wouldn’t you know it? Today is International Factchecking Day. Could have fooled us — we thought it was April 1.
Poynter calls the day “a global initiative that recognizes the crucial role of accurate information in an interconnected world.” It would indeed be nice if we could trust the media to tell us the truth, but we can’t. That goes doubly so for the “fact-checkers.”
Right on cue, the Left’s Praetorian Guard is out in force to “fact-check” all the mean conservatives who dared object to Joe Biden’s presidential proclamation for Transgender Day of Visibility, which this year coincided with Easter, the holiest day on the Christian calendar.
To sum up their obfuscation, the problem is that some objectors were not precise enough because Biden did not create the day, it was not his first official proclamation to recognize it, and it wasn’t his fault that it coincided with Easter. Furthermore, he’s Catholic.
“The overlap of Easter and the Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) in 2024 was entirely coincidental,” Snopes lectured. “There was no evidence of a Biden-led effort to make sure Easter fell on the same day as TDOV so he could recognize the latter over the former.”
AFP’s version was headlined, “Conservative politicians, media mislead on White House Easter celebration.” For the official truth, AFP relies on … the White House. “As a Christian who celebrates Easter with family, President Biden stands for bringing people together and upholding the dignity and freedoms of every American,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates told AFP in a statement. “Sadly, it’s unsurprising politicians are seeking to divide and weaken our country with cruel, hateful, and dishonest rhetoric.”
Fact-check: Biden invited this controversy and caused this division on an issue that wasn’t an issue at all until a few short years ago.
Newsweek asked a deliberately obtuse question: “Did Joe Biden Create Transgender Day of Visibility on Easter?” The conclusion is, predictably, “FALSE.” “Biden did not invent TDoV, nor set the date to deliberately clash with Easter, which is on a different date every year.”
Similar to AFP, Newsweek appealed to authority via the left-wing radical who invented the day:
Michigan-based transgender activist, Rachel Crandall-Crocker, created TDoV and reflected on how it had become a global day of recognition since 2009.
“It really is amazing how far it has come,” she told NPR on March 30. “I wasn’t expecting to start an international movement.”
Fact-check: Crandall-Crocker is a man pretending to be a woman. He is not “she.” He even pretends to be a victim, claiming that when he first proclaimed his identity change in 1997, “I was fired and lost my marriage.” Translation: He left his wife, eventually marrying another woman. He’s a licensed psychotherapist who recruits others into his twisted delusion.
In other words, he is misleading people with evil lies, but Newsweek treats him as an authoritative source rather than an unquestionably biased one.
Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre got in on the act, saying the outrage was based on “a lot of misinformation done on purpose.” Like her sidekick, she alleged that it is actually conservatives, not radical left-wingers redefining words and demanding fealty to the gender-confusion cult, who “are seeking to divide and weaken our country with cruel, hateful, and dishonest rhetoric.”
If unity is the point, someone should ask the White House why the trans messaging went to English accounts but not Spanish speakers.
Joe Biden himself added to the misinformation pile in this exchange with a reporter:
Reporter: “Mr. President, what does Easter mean to you, sir?”
Biden: “Time for forgiveness and people getting together and a little bit of love and no phoniness. Be straight with people.”
Editor’s note: It’s incredibly offensive that he would use the word “straight” in this context.
Reporter: “[House] Speaker [Mike] Johnson said you betrayed the tenet of Easter by proclaiming Sunday, Easter Sunday, as Transgender Day. He called it outrageous and abhorrent. What do you say to Speaker Johnson?”
Biden: “He’s thoroughly uninformed. I didn’t do that.”
Fact-check: Biden did do that. Given his emphasis on the word “I,” he surely meant the same thing as the “fact-checkers” — that he didn’t create the day or ensure that it coincided with Easter. But he did do something outrageous, betraying the Christians with whom he claims to belong. He is the first president to acknowledge this and numerous other days on the Rainbow Mafia’s liturgical calendar.
“Who’s running the presidency?” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis joked after hearing Biden’s exchange. “Is it a bunch of woke 20-something-year-old White House staffers? So, I don’t know who’s in charge.”
It is certainly true that some of the social media outrage was imprecise, and that almost certainly led to some folks wondering whether this was Biden’s first such declaration because of the highly offensive fact that it did coincide with Easter. Though it also landed on Easter in 2013, Barack Obama had not yet “fundamentally transformed” and did not issue any proclamations about it.
Fortunately, this Satanic lie of a day won’t coincide with Easter again until 2086.
The Left’s entire objective can be summed up this way:
- Change the definition of words in the name of “progress” and “right side of history.”
- Recruit people into the gender-confusion cult so as to solidify a political constituency.
- Accuse conservatives who object of being hateful bigots for saying what everyone thought until five minutes ago* (note to fact-checkers: not literally five minutes ago), thereby solidifying the division between “us” and “them.”
This “Did God really say?” lie goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden and Genesis 3. Satan was the first “fact-checker” in precisely the same obtusely literal way as the Leftmedia version. That’s what makes their lies so sinister.
Footnote: One of USA Today’s “fact-checkers” asks and answers today, “Who fact-checks the fact-checkers? You do.” The article touts the virtues of these “arbiters of truth” while promising that they’ll submit to checks from the audience and correct their own errors.
That’s rarely true, first of all, but worse, the “fact-checkers” are behind the biggest threat to free speech in America today: social media suppression. Particularly on Facebook, there is no recourse once you’re hit with a “fact-check.” The Patriot Post has been hit with numerous “fact-checks” over the years, and every one of them has been a disagreement over opinion or emphasis, not of fact. As a direct result of this suppression, our social media traffic from our 750,000 followers is a tiny fraction of what it used to be.
To say we don’t much like these clowns is a gross understatement.
Footnote #2: PolitiFact recently ran a “fact-check” of another humorous Babylon Bee article on Pete Buttigieg and the recent bridge collapse. These guys really don’t get that they are the joke.
