Joe Biden has a problem. He needs the votes of reliably Democrat Jews and he needs the votes of rabidly pro-Hamas adolescent protesters all over the country. He’s tried to straddle that fence in many ways, angering both sides. The latest idea is to offer asylum1 to certain Palestinian refugees from Gaza.

I have a better idea: Don’t. Instead, send all the Hamas-loving, America-hating, tantrum-throwing toddlers from college campuses as refugees to Gaza. It’s not a foreign exchange program, and they can pay their own student loans. It’s a win for everyone.

Speaking of student loans, Biden just today announced another round of transfer payments. This time, taxpayers get the $6.1 billion bill2 for 317,000 Art Institute students. The timing of these repeated announcements is no coincidence, and it’s something to keep in mind when considering the real point of this article, which is the vile protests at Columbia University and on college and university campuses around the nation. These are the kinds of infantile haters whose votes Joe Biden is trying to buy.

At Columbia, protesters moved from obstructing and occupying campus with their matching tents to committing trespassing, burglary, and vandalism in taking over a building this week. According to University President Minouche Shafik, “We believe that while the group who broke into the building includes students, it is led by individuals who are not affiliated with the University.” Many of the protesters nationwide are indeed George Soros-backed paid thugs3.

Ironically, the renowned journalism school that administers the annual Pulitzer Prize restricted media access4 “as a safety measure.” However, one of the student protesters — an unfortunately named5 PhD candidate focused on “theories of the imagination and poetry as interpreted through a Marxian lens” — was able to hold a press conference, during which she hilariously demanded “basic humanitarian aid” so extremists like her don’t “die of dehydration and starvation” while they’re occupying a building illegally.

A reporter responded: “But they did put themselves in that, very deliberately, in that situation and in that position. So, it seems like you’re sort of saying, ‘We want to be revolutionaries, we want to take over this building, now would you please bring us some food and water?’” Yep, that about sums it up.

Last night, as students chanted genocidal slogans8 and screamed profanity, police in riot gear recaptured the building, arresting dozens of scofflaws without injury to anyone. It was a job well done9.

The university has begun suspending protesters10, and building occupiers face expulsion. Again, send them to Gaza.

This matters most for Democrat election prospects in November. Their hateful constituents will either show up to vote for Biden and his fellow Democrats because they’ve sufficiently bowed to their radical whims, or they won’t because Democrats were too wishy-washy. Worse, their August convention in Chicago could be sullied by this hatred. They love BLM riots and antifa agitators, but they don’t want anti-Semitic haters to interrupt their confab, even if they have encouraged them by waffling on Israel.

“The protesters are gonna do what they got to do,” opined New York Congressman Jamaal Bowman regarding the Columbia building occupiers. “For me, it needs to just remain nonviolent, make sure no person is harmed in the process.” You know, just like pulling a fire alarm to obstruct an official proceeding11. Does it matter that protesters committed crimes while calling for violence against Jews?

Bowman’s fellow Squad member Ilhan Omar’s daughter was recently suspended from Columbia’s sister campus, Barnard College. Omar briefly joined12 the Columbia protests before asserting falsely that some Jewish students are “pro-genocide13.” Bowman and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez both also visited Columbia, and another Squadster, Rashida Tlaib (D-Gaza), joined Bowman in leading a “free Palestine14” chant with donors elsewhere.

Other Democrats, however, are less enthralled with these Hamas-loving Jew haters. “Smashing windows with hammers and taking over university buildings is not free speech, it is lawlessness,” asserted Chuck Schumer in a five-minute speech on the Senate floor. “Those who did it should promptly face the consequences that are not merely a slap on the wrist.”

That’s great, but this is the same guy who gave a 45-minute speech in March calling for interference in Israel’s elections15 while denouncing fellow Jewish Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. To be fair, Schumer did give a speech in November sternly denouncing anti-Semitism16.

Back in the House, 21 Democrats wrote17 to Columbia officials calling for them to “act decisively” to end these protests. Fourteen Democrats are cosponsoring a resolution18 denouncing anti-Semitism. Various White House spokespersons have likewise condemned campus lawbreakers and their anti-Semitism.

As a final note about young people, all hope is not lost. There have been some bright spots amidst the dark and ugly behavior dominating headlines. For example, students at Liberty University held a massive gathering19 for prayer and worship. At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, interim Chancellor Lee Roberts raised an American flag20, which protesters had taken down and replaced with a Palestinian flag. Students gathered around it for protection and to sing the national anthem21.
