The Patriot Post® · Au Revoir, Olympics — And Women's Boxing
It came as a shock to no one that the Paris Summer Olympics would become the groundbreaker in men — or at least intersex athletes — taking over and dominating women’s sports on a major international stage. That expectation was set during the sacrilegious opening ceremonies, when gender-confused activists presented a tableau that closely resembled Leonardo da Vinci’s painting “The Last Supper.” This was accurately interpreted as offensive to Christians and a direct mockery of their faith.
The 2024 Olympics was also notable for its redress of gender binary conformists and its persecution of those who oppose statism. First, Polish state broadcaster Przemyslaw Babiarz pointed out that the choice to elevate John Lennon’s song “Imagine” during the opening ceremonies was promoting communist ideas. For his trouble, he was promptly banned from the Olympics. Second, after one sports commentator called shot putter Raven Saunders by her proper pronouns, his female coanchor corrected him, pointing out Saunders identifies as nonbinary. Yay, pronoun police.

But nothing highlighted the fact that this Olympics was a representation of the leftist dystopia to which the West is slowly succumbing better than the International Olympic Committee (IOC) allowing Algeria’s Imane Khelif and Taiwan’s Lin Yu-ting to compete in women’s boxing. This was in spite of the fact that these individuals were disqualified from the International Boxing Association’s 2023 women’s championships because they failed the chromosome test (both have XY chromosomes). Khelif competed as a welterweight and Lin competed as a featherweight. Both won gold medals after beating up women.
When confronted by this controversy, the IOC refused to provide clarity. Were these males-turned-“transgender”? Did they suffer from differences in sex development (DSD)? Why were they allowed to compete when they had been disqualified from another prestigious international competition? To this day, these questions remain unanswered and likely never will be.
IOC President Thomas Bach told reporters: “If somebody is presenting us scientifically a solid system how to identify men and women, who were the first ones to do it? We do not like this uncertainty. … What is not possible is that somebody is saying, you know, ‘this is not a woman’ just by looking at somebody or by falling prey to a defamation campaign by not a credible organization.”

This is an absolutely ridiculous assertion. XY chromosomes can be detected in a simple blood test or even by a simple cheek swab. This is something the IOC knows full well, as it used to conduct such tests.
In fact, according to National Review:
The International Olympic Committee decided in 1999 to end sex-verification screening for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney because, according to a 2000 article published by Genetics in Medicine, the chromosomal testing was expensive, was discriminatory, and emotionally harmed female athletes. In 2015, the IOC effectively removed the “woman” requirement for women’s sports by allowing male competitors who (1) “declared” to be female, and (2) maintain testosterone levels at or below 10 nmol/L for one year, although such a threshold is well above the average female levels. Later, the IOC updated its “inclusion” policies and deferred eligibility considerations to the respective governing body of each sport.
Bach is due to step down as IOC president when his term is up in 2025. This is interesting timing, as many of these pivotal changes were implemented under his watch.
The purposeful loosening of requirements and the abdication of responsibility are tacit admissions that the IOC knows its rules and guidelines are unjust. It just doesn’t care. The IOC would rather be a beacon for its version of “inclusion.” However, just because the IOC wants to force its version of reality onto the world doesn’t mean reality won’t assert itself. The reality is that men are stronger than women. Of course these XY individuals were going to win gold in the women’s boxing competition.
We should all be outraged that the Olympics have begun erasing women’s sports. As British personality Piers Morgan quipped, “Congrats to everyone who supported this travesty.”
The 2028 Summer Olympic Games are going to be in Los Angeles. Is this what we have to look forward to — more in-your-face disdain for women’s sports and more IOC-sanctioned beating up of women by males in the boxing ring? Let’s hope this isn’t the case. But considering it’s being held in California, the likelihood is very high that progressives there will try to top Paris’s wokeness.
This pushing of perverted pagan values is not coming from the everyday person but from the elites who seek to mold the world in their own image. This was made clear by the many athletes who were outspoken about their Christian faith and who gave glory to God for their victories. It is for them that we continue to watch the Olympic Games.
