A Trump deportation win, Dem congresswoman charged with assault, far-left social media blasts Biden after cancer diagnosis, CBS News president quits, and more.
A Trump deportation win: The Supreme Court continues to hand down decisions on both sides of the immigration issue, most recently supporting the Trump administration by putting a hold on a decision that stopped the removal of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) from hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans. These Venezuelans likely received their TPS from the Biden administration’s disgraceful CBP One app. The ball is now back in the court of U.S. District Judge Edward Chen, who issued the initial ruling, with a hearing set for next week. Chen’s initial decision stopped the April 7 expiration of TPS for these Venezuelans. Chen found that letting their status expire would disrupt their lives and lead to a loss of economic activity. Yes, Judge Chen, deporting people disrupts their lives and ceases their economic activity — just as coming here illegally did in the first place.
First flight of self-deporting illegals: Dubbed by the Department of Homeland Security as “Project Homecoming,” on Monday, 64 illegal aliens opted for the Trump administration’s offer of a free flight and $1,000 to self-deport. This was the first flight of the program, which effectively reverses the Biden administration’s use of the CBP One app. The Biden administration used the app as a means to bring migrants into the country via flights, whereas the Trump administration is now using the rebranded app, CBP Home, for illegal aliens to sign up for self-deportation. Those illegal aliens who voluntarily leave not only get a free flight and cash, but they also have the opportunity to apply to return legally to the U.S. As DHS Secretary Kristi Noem explained, “If you are in this country illegally, self-deport NOW and preserve your opportunity to potentially return the legal, right way.”
Dem charged with assault: New Jersey Democrat Rep. LaMonica McIver was charged with assaulting, impeding, and interfering with law enforcement by the Justice Department on Monday. McIver violated Title 18, United States Code, Section 111 (a)(1), according to Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey Alina Habba, who explained, “That conduct cannot be overlooked by the chief federal law enforcement official in the State of New Jersey, and it is my Constitutional obligation to ensure that our federal law enforcement is protected when executing their duties.” The charges are related to McIver’s actions earlier this month when she and other Democrat lawmakers sought to enter an ICE detention facility. At one point, a scuffle ensued wherein McIver was caught on camera hitting ICE officers. McIver maintains her innocence, claiming she was acting in her oversight role as a member of Congress.
Garland’s duplicity: Merrick Garland, Joe Biden’s reprobate attorney general, is being called on the carpet over his apparent cover-up of Biden’s declining mental state. Rep. Scott Fitzgerald says Garland broke his oath of office when he blocked the release of the recording of Biden’s 2023 interview with Robert Hur. The full audio of the interview has now been released, and contrary to Garland’s testimony, it clearly shows a mental decline that the transcripts did not accurately convey. Garland admitted he hadn’t even heard the audio before he testified to Congress on the accuracy of the transcript.
Irony: Biden’s wasteful cancer grift: It’s no surprise to readers of The Patriot Post that Joe Biden spent his decades of “public service” mainly serving the Biden Crime Family. There is some new irony in his long-term grifting after the revelation of his cancer diagnosis on Sunday. The Biden Cancer Initiative, founded in 2017 by Joe and Jill, aimed to drive progress in cancer treatment and “reduce disparities” in outcomes. The “charity” took in $4,809,619 in contributions during its first two fiscal years and spent $3,070,301 on payroll. Zero grants were awarded, but that’s okay because they claim the goal was not to award grants but to “accelerate treatment” for all. By mid-2019, with Joe stepping away to run for president, the Initiative was mostly defunct. Much like Joe Biden’s “public service,” it was all hot air, empty promises, and lined pockets.
Far-left social media blasts Biden after cancer diagnosis: When it was revealed Sunday that Joe Biden has stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer, most people expressed sympathy because cancer is a terrible disease that causes incredible suffering. The reaction on the Right might be expected to be tempered by Biden’s treasonous border invasion, his surrender and retreat from Afghanistan, and his years spent enriching the Biden Crime Family, but few expected the vitriol from the far Left. “He’s a genocidal monster and I hope his final days are painful,” wrote prominent former Bernie Sanders campaign surrogate Shaun King. Former WaPo columnist Taylor Lorenz had even less savory things to say. Other far-left voices like Hasan Piker called Biden “an awful monster.” However much leftists hate the Right, they hate powerful party members who don’t give them everything they want even more.
Rebuking Schumer over Mexican Navy crash: Few Democrat leaders have struggled more for relevancy than Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. After a Mexican Navy ship crashed into the Brooklyn Bridge over the weekend, Schumer blamed the Trump administration by suggesting that the U.S. Coast Guard’s water traffic control was understaffed thanks to DOGE. “We know they’ve been meddling with U.S. Coast Guard staffing,” Schumer argued. “Trump relieved Admiral Linda Fagan as Commandant of the USCG, and that position is still vacant.” DHS responded that the USCG is fully staffed. Furthermore, “This incident had nothing to do with Vessel Traffic Services — when a ship loses propulsion in a high current area, the vessel needs to engage all capabilities to stop and ideally tugs are nearby to support,” DHS said. “We encourage Minority Leader Schumer to get his facts straight before he misleads the American people.”
CBS News president quits: Amid a $20 billion lawsuit from Donald Trump, CBS News President Wendy McMahon has resigned from the network. McMahon is the second person associated with the biased editing of Kamala Harris’s “60 Minutes” interview to leave the network after Executive Producer Bill Owens resigned in April. In a memo sent to staff, McMahon alleges that “the company and I do not agree on the path forward” — probably because the company wants to have a future, and McMahon wants to ride the leftist train off a cliff. These resignations come on the heels of Shari Redstone, CBS’s controlling shareholder, expressing dissatisfaction with the network’s anti-Israel coverage.
Ed. Dept. rescinds Biden’s record fine against GCU: The Biden administration targeted not just Donald Trump with its lawfare campaign but also a Christian college. In 2023, the Department of Education issued a record $37.7 million fine against Grand Canyon University over the dubious accusation that the school was a predatory for-profit institution. Biden’s DOE claimed GCU had misled doctoral graduates on total tuition costs. Well, Trump’s DOE disagreed with that assessment and on Monday rescinded the fine. “Unlike the previous administration, we will not persecute and prosecute colleges and universities based on their religious affiliation,” explained DOE spokeswoman Ellen Keast. GCU President Brian Mueller welcomed the decision, stating, “The facts clearly support our contention that we were wrongly accused of misleading our doctoral students, and we appreciate the recognition that those accusations were without merit.”
