Newsom’s Nonsense
The first part of Governor Newsom’s Tuesday night speech had no audio. The second part had an echo, and most of it had no truth. It was lie after lie.
California Governor Gavin Newsom attempted to address the nation Tuesday night on social media. California Democrats can’t seem to do anything right.
We know they can’t build mass transit, adequate housing, or do the basic maintenance to prevent wildfires. Apparently, they can’t even do a live video on X. Newsom’s address was bedeviled by technical difficulties.
The first part of Newsom’s speech had no audio. The second part had an echo, and most of it had no truth. It was lie after lie.
First, Newsom said there was no trouble in Los Angeles until Trump “inflamed a combustible situation” by mobilizing the National Guard. “That’s when the downward spiral began,” the governor insisted.
That’s laughable! No timeline supports what Newsom said, but it’s become one of the Left’s major talking points. The violence started Friday night after leftist demonstrators interfered with federal immigration enforcement operations.
Knowing that Democrats refused to act during the 2020 riots, Trump proactively mobilized National Guard troops Saturday evening as the situation continued to deteriorate. Newsom also said Trump acted without ever calling him first. That’s a lie.
Newsom claimed that President Trump was forcing the military to “put on a vulgar display to celebrate his birthday, just as other failed dictators have done in the past.” That’s a lie.
The First Continental Congress voted to create the Continental Army on June 14, 1775. That is why the Army has always celebrated its birthday – not Donald Trump’s – on June 14th. This year is a special anniversary – the 250th anniversary of the United States Army.
When Newsom calls the duly elected president a “dictator,” he is intentionally doing everything he can to incite more rioting and violence, not only in Los Angeles but across the country.
By the way, one thing we would expect to see a lot of is reporters interviewing the protesters in the streets of Los Angeles. But we’re seeing very little of that. The reason is because the protesters are so out of the mainstream that their socialist, globalist rhetoric would likely alienate the average American.
The Real Insurrectionists
Another “big lie” was Newsom’s claim that because President Trump is enforcing our immigration laws, “Democracy is next. Democracy is under assault right before our eyes – the moment we’ve feared has arrived.”
That’s more “gaslighting.” It’s the exact opposite of the truth.
In 2024, Donald Trump won the biggest GOP Electoral College victory in more than 30 years. He did so by promising to secure our border and enforce our immigration laws.
Enforcing our laws is essential to the rule of law, and that is precisely what President Trump is constitutionally obligated to do.
Enforcing our laws is not dictatorial or anti-democratic. The Left’s demand that we not enforce our laws makes them the real insurrectionists.

A federal judge refused Newsom’s request to immediately order Trump to withdraw the Marines and National Guard troops from Los Angeles. Instead, the judge is giving the administration time to present its arguments, and a hearing is scheduled for today.
The decision by Judge Charles Breyer is notable as he is the younger brother of retired liberal Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer.
Of course, Judge Breyer may eventually side with Newsom. If so, the Trump administration will immediately appeal. But legal scholars Alan Dershowitz and Jonathan Turley are confident Trump will ultimately prevail.
Some say the 2028 election will be a race between Trump’s handpicked candidate and Gavin Newsom. That will be a race between a candidate committed to enforcing our laws and one committed to ignoring and undermining our laws.
If Newsom wins, it will be the end of America. Our Republic will not survive another invasion of 10 to 20 million illegal aliens.
