The Patriot Post® · NYT Comedian Questions Trump's Vigor
No, NFL great Roy Green never said, when asked by a reporter later in his career if he’d lost a step, that he had a step to lose. But I wish he had.
Jet Stream Green was a burner and an utterly unique talent back in the day, a 4.2 40 guy who played both wide receiver and cornerback for the Cardinals at a time when no one else in the league even dared to play on both offense and defense. Heck, Green also returned punts and kicks, such were his ability and energy.
I mention this because we have a politician in our midst who, for years, has exhibited the same mind-boggling energy: Donald Trump. And yet some haters just can’t acknowledge it.
Earlier this week, The New York Times published a piece by lefty opinion writer Frank Bruni titled “Trump’s Approval Ratings Have Declined. So Has His Vigor.” In it, Bruni told his dozens of readers that they “might want to brace ourselves for some presidential déjà vu” because Donald Trump is “starting to give President Joe Biden vibes.”
Really? Trump thrives on a schedule that would grind most humans — including Frank Freaking Bruni — into dust. The guy gets up early, stays up late, spends his days grappling with domestic and geopolitical issues of enormous consequence, regularly travels cross-country and trans-oceanic, never sleeps nor lets anyone else sleep on those overseas flights, and holds press conferences at all hours and on all occasions. And he still finds time to troll his detractors with lengthy missives on Truth Social. For example:
There has never been a President that has worked as hard as me! My hours are the longest, and my results are among the best. I’ve stopped Eight Wars, saving many millions of lives in the process, created the Greatest Economy in the History of our Country, brought Business back into the United States at levels never seen before, rebuilt our Military, created the Largest Tax Cuts and Regulation Cuts, EVER, closed our open and very dangerous Southern Border, when previous Administrations were unable to do so, and created an “aura” around the United States of America that has led every Country in the World to respect us more than ever before. In addition to all of that, I go out of my way to do long, thorough, and very boring Medical Examinations at the Great Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, seen and supervised by top doctors, all of whom have given me PERFECT Marks — Some have even said they have never seen such Strong Results. I do these Tests because I owe it to our Country. In addition to the Medical, I have done something that no other President has done, on three separate occasions, the last one being recently, by taking what is known as a Cognitive Examination, something which few people would be able to do very well, including those working at The New York Times, and I ACED all three of them in front of large numbers of doctors and experts, most of whom I do not know.
So there. If I’m being charitable to Bruni — and I have no reason to be — I might cede that 79-year-old Donald Trump probably doesn’t smash his tee shot as far as 55-year-old Donald Trump used to. But so what? A 79-year-old Donald Trump really would’ve run circles around Joe Biden’s White House.
Heck, Trump doesn’t even rest on Sundays, instead doing things like hosting the Kennedy Center Honors gala.
As for Bruni, where was he when Trump’s White House predecessor was routinely calling a lid on things before noon, embarrassing our nation on the world stage, and taking a week to recover from the jet lag of a transatlantic trip? Oh, and taking a week off from his “duties” as “president” solely to prepare for a debate with Donald Trump — a debate implosion that resoundingly exposed not only Biden and his handlers but also the mainstream media for having steadfastly propped him up all those years.
So it’s not true on its face, but even if it were true, the mainstream media long ago forfeited its right to question Trump’s stamina when it watched The Autopen for three-and-a-half years without saying a word about his fitness for office, and only raised its voice when Biden fell to pieces live on the national debate stage and thereby signaled that he couldn’t win a general election against Trump. That’s when the entire Democrat apparatus went into panic mode because they knew at that moment that Biden would get his clock cleaned by Trump in the November election. So it wasn’t about the truth; it was only about defending the Democrats’ hold on power — just like it was with the Times’s efforts to rewrite immigration history.
And don’t get me started on Biden’s fake White House physician and his medical malpractice during the entirety of Biden’s four years in office. Let’s face it: There’s a yawning chasm of competence between a remarkably adept and vigorous 79-year-old Trump and a shockingly decrepit 82-year-old Joe Biden.
The legacy media is morally bankrupt. And it ought not call our attention to this by floating fake stories about our commander-in-chief.
