Re: Donald Trump Is Not Jesus

“This was a bridge too far for me. I’m Catholic and voted for Trump twice. I also think the pope’s comments were, at best, woefully naive. But Trump’s overinflated ego is a major flaw. The Bible teaches that ‘Pride goeth before a fall.’ That would indicate that Trump is headed for one that would make Humpty Dumpty’s look like a scraped knee. I just hope that when the fall comes, Trump doesn’t take me and the country down with him. IMHO, he needs to rein in his ego, or he’s going to find me and a whole lot of others in the ‘former supporter’ category.” —Illinois

“Sadly, so many people do not understand Trump’s trolling posts. Despite his crassness, he’s thinking on ‘3-D chess’ levels while those on the Left who observe him are thinking on a ‘checkers’ level. Trump is the guy with a laser pointer in a room full of cats. He has everyone chasing the laser dot, and yet the cats think they’re in control. Sadly, Trump too often misses the fact that there are some among his constituents who also object to some of his over-the-top posts, and he needs to throttle those. At least he took the disgraceful ‘healing physician’ jab down.” —South Carolina

“I’m a Christian and I was not one bit offended because I recognize satire. The pope needs to stay in his own lane and clean up his own backyard first. So what if he’s Catholic? He’s a man and just as fallible as Trump or anyone else on this earth. He prays to Jesus’s mom instead of going directly to the source, so he’s in no position to be giving anyone advice on how to do their job, least of all the president.” —North Carolina

“President Trump has his faults, like all of us. Only God knows the heart, so I will leave it to Him to judge that. What I can see is that despite those faults, God has put him in his position for a time like this. He surrounds himself with believers and people of faith. Compare that to Joe Biden and Obama. In addition, the pope talks, acts, and supports issues like a Democrat, so…” —Texas

Re: A Tale of Two Popes

“God does not bless any conflict? Who opened the Red Sea to swallow legions of Israelite pursuers? The pope should stick to his installation promise to not engage in partisan politics, and Trump needs to learn to turn a deaf ear to criticism. He is notorious for taking the bait when he would be wise to just roll his eyes and move on to the issue at hand.” —West Virginia

Re: Sayonara to Swalwell

“Eric Swalwell got caught in something they can’t sweep under the rug anymore, so they publicly threatened to expel him — even though they never had any real intention of doing it. He gets to resign quietly and keep his full retirement benefits, which he would’ve lost if they actually kicked him out. Those benefits include a lifetime pension, government health insurance for life, and his TSP retirement account — far more than the average worker gets after 13 years on the job.” —Alabama

Re: Republican Amnesty? The ‘Dignidad’ Act Ignores the Will of the People

“This ‘not an amnesty’ bill looks an awful lot like the illegal alien amnesty bill President Reagan signed, with the same presumption that it would yield a ‘dignified’ answer to the presence of millions of illegals. Reagan’s bill failed; it sent the message that if you sneak in and wait long enough, you get the perks of legal residency without following the law. But where is the dignity for the Ukrainian family facing visa expiration while their hometown is still in a Russian-occupied combat zone? Where is the dignity for the legal immigrant waiting an extra year for his wife to join him because USCIS delayed her paperwork? Congress should first work on making legal immigration more practical.” —Minnesota

Re: Why the United States Cannot Afford to Restrict All Legal Immigration

“I agree that we need an appropriate system for both legal and illegal immigration. However, I do believe that in order to obtain that, we need to put a temporary halt on all immigration. We need to pause immigration for at least 2-3 years and focus on reforming and rebuilding our system to match the current laws. We also need to be stricter about how long a person has to obtain citizenship and learn English before they are deported. The longer we ignore this, the more we hurt ourselves. We are killing our country through inaction.” —Colorado

“What we ought to do is go back to what we had 65 years ago, when immigrants had to prove that they can sustain themselves and that they will integrate with our society. Make English the official language; no more allowing people in who can’t speak it. Ban any country whose culture and society are incompatible with ours.” —Wisconsin

Re: Leadership — The Real Thing

“Well said! If Republicans took lessons from the Left in how to be relentless, a lot could get done. They just let the Left walk all over them.” —North Carolina

Re: Evidence Shows the Indisputable Harm of Transgenderism

“I completely agree with the premise of the story. However, I believe intelligent people should stop using the phrase ‘transgender’ because it’s a manufactured phrase that didn’t really exist until the deranged leftist Democrats started trying to somehow normalize a mental disorder known as ‘gender dysphoria.’ Democrats do love their ridiculous labels!” —Washington

Re: Disney, Take Note of ‘Super Mario’

“Thank goodness for Angel Studios. I took my grandchildren to see ‘David’ and ‘Paddington,’ and I went by myself to see ‘Sound of Freedom.’ All excellent movies. Folks, support them, as they are preaching the messages we want for our children and grandchildren.” —Illinois

Re: Profiles of Valor: CAPT Victor Glover (USN/NASA)

“This article on Captain Glover was truly eye-opening. I had no knowledge of Glover previously, other than he was the commander of the Artemis II mission. He is a very admirable man, a great American, and, of course, a great Patriot. Thank you, Mark Alexander, for another great article.” —Idaho

“One of the best columns ever! This is a story every American should read!” —Florida

“It was a pleasure, amid all the noisy news nonsense from other sources, to read a this uplifting column about a great American.” —California
