“GOOD RIDDANCE!” posted President Donald Trump after the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) ditched its use of extreme climate modeling scenarios known as the Representative Concentration Pathway (RCP) 8.5. Trump added, “After 15 years of Dumocrats promising that ‘Climate Change’ is going to destroy the Planet, the United Nations TOP Climate Committee just admitted that its own projections (RCP8.5) were WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!”

In layman’s terms, Trump ain’t wrong.

Well, except for saying “15 years.” Al Gore’s “Inconvenient Truth” is turning 20 years old this weekend, and it was spectacularly wrong. (Glacier National Park, for example, is not “the park formerly known as Glacier,” and there’s still plenty of ice at the poles.) But Gore was already a climate war veteran by then. He has been sounding false climate alarms since before he wrote Earth in the Balance in 1992, in which he warned of “an ecological Kristallnacht.” But the only green he’s saved is in the form of massive piles of cash obtained by conning the masses.

Anyway, back to the UN, the way the eggheads at the IPCC put it was that RCP8.5, which was intended to forecast the extreme worst-case scenario, was “implausible.” Despite this stunningly obvious admission, the IPCC spun its dumping of the scientifically dubious climate alarmist projection as “trends in the costs of renewables, the emergence of climate policy and recent emission trends” to justify it.

In other words, the IPCC rationalized effectively lying to the world by labeling it “science” in order to push governments of the world into adhering to some climate alarmist agenda that was never realistic. This is akin to the parent telling their child that they’ll get kicked out of Disney World if they cry.

For those in the know, like the IPCC, it was never really about doing the impossible — stopping the Earth’s climate from changing. It was a blatant manipulation of the masses that those in government used as an excuse to amass more power and centralized control over their populations and economies.

So, why the admission now?

Well, it appears that the jig is up, and the IPCC understands that after two-plus decades of catastrophic predictions that have never even come close to reality, people have stopped listening. What people have experienced is that all this spending of tax dollars, all the litany of onerous climate rules and regulations, has done zilch for the climate.

European countries that have adopted ridiculous net-zero policies are having their economic lunches eaten by the likes of China, which has done nothing but offer climate-affirming platitudes while increasing its emissions year over year.

It’s as if China has known it was bogus science the whole time. Indeed, one wonders just how much China funded this climate alarmist nonsense precisely to weaken Western economies.

The upshot is, as we and many other scientifically sound conservatives have long been observing, there is no imminent climate apocalypse. There never was.

The IPCC is scrambling to stay relevant despite the fact that it has supported nonsense climate apocalypse fearmongering for years. Generations of kids have grown up believing that the world was coming to an end imminently unless all fossil fuel energy production was severely limited, if not eliminated entirely. This is how we got foolish, brainwashed activists like Greta Thunberg.

This is also how we get the likes of Democrat Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez pushing the Marxist-rooted Green New Deal. Recall back in 2019 when she ridiculously likened climate change to World War II, warning, “Millennials and people, you know, Gen Z and all these folks that will come after us are looking up and we’re like: ‘The world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?’”

Even with the crushing weight of reality, it’s unlikely that the climate doomsayers will finally acknowledge the science and follow it rather than their ideologically based fantasies.
