Re: Oh Say Can You Still See — at 250?

“I pledge my allegiance to my country and salute the American flag. Not a political party. Not a politician.” —Montana

“Our prayer is always E PLURIBUS UNUM — stamped onto currency. Lord, stamp it onto our hearts!” —New York

“I learned to honor, salute, and respect that ‘Ragged Old Flag’ early in life. What grieves me is that too often it’s used as a political statement, not as a symbol of our nation — the United States of America — and the Liberties it stands for since its first stitches were sewn.” —California

“It’s sad that even in some patriotic settings, a soloist now sings ‘The Star-Spangled Banner.’ At one time we all sang it, though it is notable that at some professional sporting events, depending on location, entire stadiums join in!” —Florida

“I have long considered the fourth verse of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ to be the best. During a trip to DC for a friend’s Air Force retirement ceremony, my wife and I sang that verse publicly in front of the original battle flag from Ft. McHenry at the Smithsonian — an unforgettable experience.” —Oklahoma

Re: Leftists Want All the Immigrants — Except if They’re White

“To me, the answer is clear: Defund each and every one of these NGOs. No federal dollars at all. Any state funding them should have their federal support cut by that amount. Let these NGOs lay off staff, lose their office spaces, whatever.” —California

“If this were merely the impact of DEI on immigration, the worst these Afrikaners might suffer would be indifference. Which is fine — they’re perfectly capable of starting a new life here on their own. The root of these problems facing Afrikaners is not DEI itself but a much bigger issue lurking underneath: the people causing this trouble don’t want equality; they just hate whites.” —California

Re: Princeton Professor Says He Doesn’t Love America

“Oh, wow. Another black race huckster, marinating in the protective amniotic fluid of the Ivy League. Yeah, we need more of those. Ibram X. Kendi, get on your horse.” —Oklahoma

“I guess Eddie is not totally down and out on an ‘abstract and morally dubious’ America. There is nothing abstract about his $200K salary, comprehensive health benefits, and generous retirement plans and pension options at a major institute of higher learning. What is crystal clear, however, is the woke leftist garbage he continues to shovel into the minds of the poor, misguided souls that sit in his class. So for now, Eddie will forge ahead, corrupting our Gen Z minds and building his net worth. It’s so true: you can be anything you want in America if you put your mind to it.” —North Carolina

“American universities have long hosted socialist-leaning, self-labeled intellectuals who haughtily look down their noses at other people, particularly those who love the United States and what this nation represents. They think they are smarter and wiser than everybody else, but in reality, they are small-minded ingrates who try to build themselves up by tearing down their fellow citizens and their nation. Universities are asylums for them, for they probably would be useless anywhere else.” —Minnesota

Re: TDS Overtakes Welker as Trump Walks Out of Interview

“So-called journalists like Welker have only one purpose in mind, and that is to destroy Donald Trump and our nation. I am amazed that he gives these fakes as much time as he does. Let’s take January 6 as an example of their reporting. The only person killed during that visit to the Capitol building was an unarmed Air Force veteran named Ashli Babbitt, who was shot, for no defensible reason, by a U.S. Capital Police officer, Lt. Michael Byrd. Of course, he was completely exonerated because the powers that be decided he had probably ‘saved lives.’ Explain that one, since Babbitt was unarmed! Oh well — just more Democrat lies that will never be pursued.” —South Carolina

Re: Blanche: A Rock-Solid Pick

“With all the appointments politicians make, the federal judiciary should be free of party politics. Somehow, judges should not be picked by the party in power. Example: Washington, DC, has mostly Democrat judges. You will never get a fair trial there. The same applies to all other Democrat enclaves. There has to be a better way to pick federal judges. Even the Supreme Court is picked by a party, and that’s a lifetime job. Lawyers jockey to get the judge they want. Democrats ruin justice for us all.” —Arizona

Re: Congress Should Stay Out of College Sports

“The SAVE America Act languishes and dies, while we have no respite from the disaster that is ObamaCare. So, let’s do football! California is in the ACC. Oregon is in the Big 10 (is this a joke?). The almighty dollar has destroyed backyard rivalries, and the days when a fan could drive to all his team’s games without dropping $2K on cross-country plane tickets and a hotel are gone. Congress can’t fix this problem. Empty stadium seats won’t fix this either. But loss of TV revenue from mounting fan disinterest might.” —Oklahoma

Re: Bernie’s Plan to Federalize AI

“AI development and application will grow exponentially. Eventually, we will decide whether to trust AI or human judgment on a variety of issues that threaten our unalienable rights endowed by our Creator. Infrequent and of little consequence at first, these event frequencies and consequences will grow exponentially, irrevocably revolutionizing human society. But exigencies demand focus on national strategic and economic threats. Unlike the space race of the 1960s, the AI race can and should be funded privately. The free market promises far greater AI innovation and application than any government agency. But if our government fails to ensure ethical AI application that preserves human rights for all, AI will ensure no human rights at all.” —Missouri

Re: Jesse and Ashley Ridgway Feign Compassion for Tragic Choice

“I’d be willing to wager a small amount that this couple is also anti-capital punishment, that they believe convicted killers have a right to ‘mercy.’ But what is more contrary to ‘normal’ than a psychopath who has no respect for life and knows no remorse for such deeds? Shouldn’t that life be terminated for being ‘less than normal’? Why they choose to believe their ‘reasoning’ is beyond my ken, but I do devoutly believe that they will make amends for this at a later time, either in this life or the next. Remember, the books must balance before closure.” —Texas
