Ecofascism is a form of paganistic earth worship. It takes a good, biblically sanctioned idea — stewarding the earth God gave us — and turns it into anti-human, pro-Mother Earth religiosity at any cost.

During the World Cup, European tourists marveled at an American staple: air conditioning in almost every building and every home. Considering that the summer heat in the U.S. is generally more oppressive than in much of Europe, air conditioning here is not only a convenience but a life-saving necessity.

Nevertheless, cultish, sun-worshiping ecofascists in Europe have deemed the masses acceptable sacrifices to the sun god in order to keep the atmosphere clean of pollutants. In other words, Europeans refuse to install ubiquitous air conditioning because it would require more energy and, therefore, more power plants. They would rather the proletariat suffer inside their miserable, sultry homes.

Audrey Pulvar, the deputy mayor of Paris, France, recently epitomized this mentality. To quote our Douglas Andrews, who covered the story:

Pulvar’s Angela Davis-style afro tells us all we need to know about her politics, but still. She then went on to blame the United States for Europe’s deadly heat wave: “As the second-largest emitter of greenhouse gas emissions in the world, you bear a significant amount of responsibility for global warming and the consequences we, in France, are experiencing. Your cities ‘90% air-conditioned’ are not unrelated to this. In Paris, we take responsibility.”

Except, as it turns out, the U.S. isn’t the culprit for Europe’s recent heat waves. According to a study published by the UK Met Office, Europe is experiencing another year of heat waves because the air is too clean.

The study, conducted in collaboration with Spanish scientists, found that since the 1980s, the reduction in air-based pollution from aerosols and particles has been significant. “From 1980, Europe warmed around 1C more than the average of extratropical areas of the Northern Hemisphere, and around 1.5C more than the global average,” said Pedro Roldán‐Gómez, one of the study’s lead researchers. “Most of this excess warming over Europe can be linked to the reduction of particle emissions.”

To further emphasize the solidness of their findings, the scientists used causal and temporal metrics. As Joshua Arnold of The Washington Stand explains:

The researchers stumbled across this conclusion because of errors in existing climate models. Essentially, current climate models predict global warming, but they “underestimate the magnitude of these changes, showing signal-to-noise errors in the atmospheric circulation responses” observed across Western and Central Europe. So, the authors went looking for another explanatory factor. When corrected for the effect of eliminated sulfate emissions, they said, the models could correctly predict observed warming trends in Europe.

While the climate apologists are quick to assign blame to fossil fuels, the heat waves across the pond are at least partially due to clearing the air of aerosol-based sulfates, a byproduct of burning fossil fuels. Yet stubborn European policymakers want so badly to appear virtuous that they won’t apologize for erroneously attacking air conditioning.

The delicious irony of this study is quite satisfying. Even more amusing, it seems to prove that literally everything causes global warming — even clean air.

Environmentalism boils down to an essential question: Are humans meant to live on and care for the planet so future generations can enjoy it, or are humans gumming up the system and bringing existential doom?

Until climate alarmists value human lives more than their own environmental worship, people will pay the price for backward thinking. Just ask the boiling Europeans.
