“Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” These three pillars launched the greatest movement of Liberty the world has ever known. The Declaration of Independence was a document unlike any other as America declared its independence from the tyrannical rule of England.

This document has spoken to millions for hundreds of years, but it is in danger of being trashed by a new generation of revolutionaries. These revolutionaries have an entirely different vision for America than that of our Founding Fathers, who had very clear ideas about preserving the flame of Liberty for our nation.

In his inaugural address, George Washington warned that preserving the “sacred fire of liberty” depended on the people actively participating to maintain the Republic.

John Adams warned, “But a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.”

Thomas Jefferson said, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.”

Does America still have enough Patriots who will stand up to tyranny in defense of freedom? I fear our country is like the frog placed in a pan of water that is slowly heated until the frog is cooked. We’ve been lulled to sleep by the smooth voices of media shills telling us not to worry, that everything is fine, and that socialism isn’t communism — don’t believe your lying eyes!

The freedom to vote is a right and privilege many nations around the world do not possess. Yet we take it for granted to the extent that fewer and fewer people take the responsibility serious enough to actually vote. A classic example is the recent elections in New York, where three very radical candidates won their primaries with roughly 17% of eligible voters showing up. Will we simply surrender our freedoms as a result of apathy?

During the Revolutionary War, pulpits were on fire preaching the need to defend our freedoms and our God-given rights. Millions fled England and Europe to have the freedom to worship. The current trend toward Marxism is a direct threat to freedom of worship. Communism is a godless doctrine, while Islam requires obedience to Allah alone.

These radicals openly campaign on the complete overthrow of everything that makes America a beacon of hope to the nations. Every day, President Ronald Reagan seems more prophetic:

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the Unites States where men were free.

Much of the church today fails to take a stand against the very evils that will destroy our right to worship freely. Many of our elected officials, Democrat and Republican, care more about being liked and staying in office than about actually taking a stand on principles.

The common belief is that the party out of power always makes significant gains in the midterm elections. Many seem to think, “Why should I even vote?” as if failure is inevitable. The radical Marxists gaining power around the country are hoping you feel that way. It doesn’t matter what you think of President Donald Trump — I have my own issues with his personality — but he’s not trying to destroy the country. His policies are good for America.

If millions of Americans — and especially Christians, who are showing up less and less each election — don’t turn out to vote in massive numbers, we will lose and Trump’s agenda will be dead in the water. To do nothing is not an option!
