Today, President Obama was forced to backtrack on some of his administration’s most recent comments regarding Syria.

In an interview with NBC’s Savannah Guthrie, Barack Obama boldly proclaimed, “The U.S. does not do pinpricks. Our military is the greatest the world has ever known.”

Hmmm. That tune’s a little different than what State Secretary John Kerry was vocalizing yesterday when he asserted that any military intervention would be an “unbelievably small, limited kind of effort.”

Of course, yesterday this administration was busy trying to sell the idea of a military strike to war-weary Americans. Today, with Syria allegedly agreeing to hand over their chemical weapons to international control, thus potentially avoiding an airstrike altogether, Obama has a little more, shall we say, “flexibility” in describing our Armed Forces.
