Now that it appears that the Navy Yard sociopath may have started his murderous rampage with a shotgun, we thought it would be instructive to repeat some advice from Bill and Joe:

Bill Clinton: “If you live in a city and you think you need protection of your home, you’re way better off with a shotgun than an assault weapon. Trust me. It’s not even close.”

Joe Biden: “If you want to protect yourself, get a double barrel shotgun, have the shells, a twelve gauge shotgun, and I promise you as I told my wife, we live in an area that’s wooded and somewhat secluded – I said if there is ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony, walk out, put that double barrel shotgun, and fire two blasts outside the house. I promise you whoever is coming in is not going.”
