No small irony that John Kerry and Nan Pelosi are keeping up the tenor for military action against Assad when (not if) disarmament fails. After George W. Bush declared Syria an unfriendly, then-Senator Kerry and Nancy Pelosi both circumvented the Bush Administration’s policy toward Syria. On several occasions they traveled to Syria and met with Bashar al-Assad for posh wining and dining engagements, and assured him he still had the support of Democrats.
