Every day across our nation, there are millions of simple acts of kindness, good deeds which never make a headline except on rare occasions. Once such occasion occurred last week, when a 19-year-old Dairy Queen manager in Minnesota, Joey Prusak, insisted that a woman return a $20 bill he observed her steal from a blind man, who is a regular customer in Prusak’s store. The woman cursed Prusak, pocketed the bill, and left the store. That might have been the end of the story, except that Prusak then took a $20 bill from his own wallet and gave it to the blind customer. Prusak got a call from Warren Buffett, whose Berkshire Hathaway Inc. owns Dairy Queen, thanking him for setting such a fine example for DQ employees, and the rest of the nation! (For many examples of kindness, search “acts of kindness” on YouTube.)
