Nancy Pelosi warned that heartless Republicans have already cut all there is to cut from the federal budget. “The cupboard is bare,” she complained. “There’s no more cuts to make. It’s really important that people understand that. We cannot have cuts just for the sake of cuts.”

The idea that the federal budget, which has doubled in the last 12 years, contains nothing worthy of cuts is beyond laughable. Indeed, here are 17,679 things that escaped sequestration but that could easily be cut.
