MSNBC’s Chris Matthews is infamous around our humble shop for his ridiculous pronouncements. His evaluation of Sen. Ted Cruz’s efforts against ObamaCare is just another in a long line of absurdities.

“Everybody wants to be Jimmy Stewart,” Matthews said, comparing Cruz to Stewart’s iconic character in “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.” “Hitler even liked Jimmy Stewart, he loved that movie. Everybody wants to be Jimmy Stewart, the man against the millions, the man against the establishment.”

Whenever you’re out of ideas, invoke Hitler. Way to go, Chris.
