The Patriot Post® · NSA Worker Spies on Girlfriend
According to a newly published letter by the NSA Office of the Inspector General, a National Security Agency employee “queried six e-mail addresses belonging to a former girlfriend, a U.S. person, without authorization.” It was his first day on the job.
His punishment: “A reduction in grade, 45 days restriction, 45 days of extra duty, and half pay for two months. It was recommended that the subject not be given a security clearance.” As revealed Thursday, he was one of 12 employees found to have abused the system.
Unfortunately, the practice of spying on an ex-boyfriend or girlfriend is common enough that it earned it’s own nickname – LOVEINT. Of course, HUMINT is short for “Human Intelligence,” hence the word play.
