Best-selling author Tom Clancy died at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore today at the age of 66. Clancy’s numerous novels about security issues were well known and loved by Americans of every stripe, but Clancy himself was, as Jeffrey Goldberg put it years ago, “famously right-wing.” Regardless, he will be missed.

RIP, Mr. Clancy.
