Senate Leader Harry Reid was asked today if Democrats would agree to at least fund the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which, among other things, funds cancer research for children. “If you can help one child who has cancer, why wouldn’t you do it?”

“Why would we want to do that?” Reid responded.
