Jimmy Carter weighed in on the Obama economy: “The disparity between rich people and poor people in America has increased dramatically since when we started. The middle class has become more like poor people than they were 30 years ago. So I don’t think it’s getting any better.” Obama can file that one under “endorsements you don’t want.” But then again, Carter’s just flat wrong. Today’s poor in America have luxuries not dreamed of by yesterday’s wealthy. Two years ago, the Heritage Foundation looked at this issue and the results are encouraging, even if the Obama “recovery” truly has suppressed where we should be.
