California Democrat Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill Tuesday extending insurance coverage for fertility treatments to unmarried and homosexual couples. “Reproductive medicine is for everybody’s benefit,” said the bill’s author, Tom Ammiano (D-San Francisco). “To restrict fertility coverage solely to heterosexual married couples violates California’s non-discrimination laws.” Of course, last we learned of the birds and the bees, only heterosexual couples can be fertile. Put another way, the only way homosexual couples can be fertile is with artificial treatments. Now every Californian’s health premium will help pay for it.
