The Patriot Post® · Revenue Up Despite Shutdown
The federal government may be shutdown – well, 17% of it is anyway – but it’s not having trouble collecting revenue. In fact, CNS News reports that tax collections are up during the shutdown. “During nine days of a shutdown this year, the federal government collected $953 million more in taxes than it did in the same nine calendar days last year – when it was open for business. Clearly, being shutdown does not mean the government is shut out of the taxpayers’ pocketbook.”
