Health and Human Services officials briefed Congress this morning in a closed-door session. It was the first time the administration has done so since the Oct. 1 rollout of Healthcare.gov. The problem is that the briefing was only for Democrats. And it didn’t include Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, who had time for Comedy Central’s John Stewart, but evidently not Congress. House Speaker John Boehner’s office complained, saying, “This snub is all the more offensive after Secretary Sebelius declined to testify at a House hearing this week. It’s time for the Obama administration to honor its promises of transparency and face some accountability.” Neither word is popular in the White House.
