The Patriot Post® · Jackson's Latest Race Bait
“Reverend” Jesse Jackson spoke at Furman University as an “international peacemaker” and, as usual, only embarrassed himself. Jackson alleged, “Goldwater and Reagan – had they been successful, it would have been illegal for blacks and whites to play [football] together on a Saturday afternoon.” He also called the South “the land of the free, the home of genocide” and accused the Tea Party of being born at Fort Sumter to perpetuate segregation. Back to football, Jackson weighed in on the Washington Redskins controversy: “In reality what happened was if If you killed an Indian … [inaudible] … finally you got paid for the scalps of the red skins of the Indians … and that’s how we got the Washington Redskins football league [sic].” Whatever happened to tolerance, anyway?
