As we reported in Wednesday’s Digest, Judge Steven Rhodes is allowing Detroit’s bankruptcy to proceed. The city’s population plummeted after more than 50 years of Democrat rule. (Indeed, if Barack Obama had a city, it would look like Detroit.) Public unions will never willingly agree to truly reasonable terms, but Rhodes’ ruling does mean they have to share the burden of the city’s financial trouble. It will indeed be a good development if unions are forced to live in reality.
