Years ago, the “Glock 7 handgun” was an all-plastic movie prop. In response to the very idea of a plastic gun, Congress dutifully passed the Undetectable Firearms Act to ban such horrifying weapons. This week, both the House and Senate rode to the rescue, renewing the bill as it was about to expire. 3D printable guns have made headlines in recent months, meaning Congress had a convenient justification for acting quickly. At least they didn’t expand the law any further, though the fight against gun control will never be over.
