The Office for the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) revealed a new surveillance satellite, which the National Reconnaissance Office recently launched into orbit. Given the spying allegations sweeping federal agencies, they probably should have been a little bit more vigilant about the logo chosen to accompany the device. The manifesto depicts an octopus enveloping the world with the caption, “Nothing is Beyond Our Reach.” An NRO spokeswoman explained, “NROL-39 is represented by the octopus, a versatile, adaptable, and highly intelligent creature. Emblematically, enemies of the United States can be reached no matter where they choose to hide.” Ironically, this looks awfully similar to a picture captioned “Know Your Communist Enemy” on page 3 of Robert B. Watts’ book, “Our Freedom Documents.”
