Celebrating the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., Barack Obama’s former pastor, Jeremiah “God D— America” Wright, took a shot at the president this week when he told the Chicago Teachers Union that while MLK said, “‘I have a dream,’ Barack says, ‘I have a drone.’” He added that, “Every Tuesday morning, there’s a kill list that the president decides who [the administration is] going to kill this week.” Wright continued with his usual drivel by demanding the abolition of militarism and capitalism, but he does have a point. The greatly expanded drone program is an easy copout for Obama, who promised to end the War on Terror by pulling out our troops regardless of the ramifications. And the existence of a “kill list” is disturbing. That’s not to say the U.S. should terminate the program, but it’s interesting that Obama’s most loyal chickens are coming home to roost.
