Last week a Chicago resident was awakened by his daughter when two thugs broke into their home. The intruders tried attacking the father but were met with several rounds of lead instead, killing one of them. However, investigators discovered that the homeowner’s Firearm Owners Identification Card (FOID) had expired, and as a result, he “was charged with one count of possessing a firearm with an expired FOID card, a misdemeanor,” according to the Chicago Tribune. Never mind the fact he was defending himself and his daughter in America’s most dangerous city; according to police, the real crime here was that an otherwise law-abiding citizen failed to renew an unconstitutional requirement put into law by those who want your right to bear arms rescinded altogether.
