To John Kerry’s shock and utter dismay, peace talks with Syria are failing, while nuclear talks with Iran kick off for the umpteenth time. But the secretary of state has his eye on the real threat – climate change. “In a sense,” he said, “climate change can now be considered another weapon of mass destruction, perhaps even the world’s most fearsome weapon of mass destruction.” But it doesn’t work if only the U.S. addresses the threat, he warned – the whole world has to rein in its economy or the global warming WMD will proliferate. “The science is unequivocal,” he said, “and those who refuse to believe it are simply burying their heads in the sand. We don’t have time for a meeting anywhere of the Flat Earth Society.” In other words, the Party of Science™ isn’t interested in scientific debate.
