The Patriot Post® · Another Win for PC Police
David Duren-Sanner, a senior student at Tennessee’s Northeast High School, was handed a 10-day suspension and ordered to attend another institution for 90 days thanks to the much-maligned zero tolerance policy. Worse, weapons charges have been filed by the sheriff’s department. His crime? Driving his father’s vehicle to school and thus unknowingly possessing a fishing knife – a “weapon” officials discovered while conducting a random search. As a result, Duren-Sanner – an honor student with an otherwise flawless record – may not be eligible to graduate. Unless cooler heads prevail, Duren-Sanner’s life may be turned upside down thanks to zero tolerance that makes zero sense.
