The infamous YouTube video that the Obama administration blamed for the Benghazi terrorist attack is now being ordered taken down. But it’s not because of White House claims that it started “spontaneous riots” – it’s a copyright case. Ninth Circuit Court Chief Judge Alex Kozinski, a Reagan appointee, ruled that film director Mark Basseley Youssef violated the intellectual property rights of actress Cindy Lee Garcia when he told her she would be acting in one thing, and then filmed her, overdubbed her lines and used her in something else entirely. In other words, she never intended to act in “Innocence of Muslims,” and sued to have the video removed when Google refused. At least until the movie is re-edited, Kozinski ordered YouTube to remove it. Garcia can perhaps take solace in knowing that the administration is no more honest than the filmmaker, and that the video is not to blame for four American deaths.
