The Patriot Post® · DE Court on Bearing Arms
The Delaware Supreme Court ruled that the Wilmington Housing Authority cannot restrict the right to keep and bear arms. Originally, the WHA completely prohibited firearms on its properties, but after McDonald v. Chicago, the U.S. Supreme Court case incorporating the Second Amendment against the states, the WHA amended its policy to limit firearms to only the interior of its properties. Not good enough, said the Delaware court, noting, “the core of the Second Amendment is the right of law-abiding, responsible citizens to use arms in defense of ‘hearth and home.’” The ruling is an important precedent moving forward, and it’s a ray of sunshine in these dark times.
