The Patriot Post® · Broken Protection Treaties
In high stakes poker, you don’t tip your hand. The same is true in high stakes foreign policy conflicts. Apparently Barack Obama, the former “community organizer,” was too preoccupied filling out his NCAA bracket to revisit his copy of “Foreign Policy for Dummies” before telling Putin and the rest of the world, “We are not going to be getting into a military excursion in Ukraine. … We do not need to trigger an actual war with Russia. The Ukrainians don’t want that. Nobody would want that.” Recall back in 2005, after then-Sen. Obama’s first overseas junket, he observed, “Vast stocks of conventional munitions and military supplies have accumulated in Ukraine. We need to eliminate these stockpiles for the safety of the Ukrainian people…” Those weapons were destroyed in return for protection treaties, now broken, and Ukraine is largely defenseless against the Russian Reds. (For all of you adroit elitists who voted for this guy, have you figured out you made a mistake yet?)
