As the Supreme Court hears arguments over ObamaCare’s contraception mandate today – a mandate that forces many Christians to violate conscience – the Vatican noted that Barack Obama’s actions are at odds with his self-proclaimed faith. Cardinal Raymond Burke, who is chief justice at the Vatican, said, “It is true that the policies of the president of the United States have become progressively more hostile toward Christian civilization. He appears to be a totally secularized man who aggressively promotes anti-life and anti-family policies.” He added that Obama’s policies are “deadly” and result in a “loss of freedom.” So Obama’s meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican in two days should be interesting. As Rand Paul quipped, Obama could break the ice by promising the pope that he’s “not going to spy on him anymore.”
