The Patriot Post® · Texas Abortion Law Upheld

Last year, Texas passed restrictions on abortions, banning them after 20 weeks gestation (as most industrialized nations do) among other things. Pro-abortion leftists had a fit, including Wendy Davis, the state lawmaker who famously filibustered the bill as a platform from which to launch her bid for governor. On Thursday, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned a lower court decision and upheld the law, saying that “on its face [the law] does not impose an undue burden on the life and health of a woman.” The ACLU whined that the law was having “a devastating impact on women in Texas,” though they don’t seem concerned about the women who would never be born. Meanwhile, the four leftist justices on the Supreme Court may grant a review of the case.
