Good news. New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie ordered an internal investigation into the scandalous bridge lane closures inflicted for political reasons by people in his administration and – surprise – he has been exonerated. Christie claimed no knowledge of the shenanigans from the start, but now he has a report to back that up. “I think the report will stand the test of time, but it will be tested by the other investigations that are ongoing,” he said. “No matter what [I’m] going to be criticized in this instance.” A day after the report came out, Port Authority chairman David Samson resigned. So now it’s up to the public to judge whether Christie is responsible or only the handful of subordinates who lost their jobs.
