Rep. Paul Ryan’s 2015 budget proposal seeks to reign in rogue government spending and implement entitlement reform. While not perfect, it at least begins the process of making tough fiscal decisions that Congress continues to punt. The Senate, meanwhile, isn’t going to bother with a budget again this election year, but that didn’t prevent Harry Reid from immediately calling Ryan’s plan “a blueprint for a modern Koch – how would we say this? Koch-topia.” Now it’s Nancy Pelosi’s turn to rail. The House minority leader blasted Ryan’s effort, calling it “a budget that ransacks the future of Americas children” and “an assault on our children’s future.” On the other hand, Ryan seems to be the only Congressman attempting to even address America’s fiscal mess. While he was campaigning for president, Barack Obama called the $4 trillion in debt accumulated by the Bush administration “irresponsible” and “unpatriotic.” In just five years, Obama has accumulated well north of $6 trillion in debt, placated by Democrat lawmakers. Who exactly is ransacking our children’s future?
