Most scandals involving Democrats are censored by the Leftmedia, but Republicans are held to a different standard. Case in point: Rep. Vance McAllister, who’s married and has five kids, was caught on tape kissing a female staffer, and media wonks over at ABC want to make sure you know on which side of the aisle McAllister sits. A Good Morning America graphic highlighted McAllister’s party affiliation – “Conservative Asks for Forgiveness” – and Jeff Zeleny reminded viewers, “Just one month earlier, the conservative Republican was sworn into office, surrounded by his wife and five children.” George Stephanopoulos added that “I see a lot of challengers coming to run against him.” There’s no excusing McAllister’s behavior; it was wrong. But that’s not the point. There’s an obvious double standard. Newsbusters’ Scott Whitlock observes, “During his days as a Democratic operative, Stephanopoulos had to defend Clinton on more than one sexual scandal” – the very man now helping his colleagues condemn McAllister’s transgression. If only Republicans were showered with the same grace so quickly awarded to Democrats.
