You may recall that the erstwhile peanut farmer, Jimmy Carter, whose foreign policy ineptitude is the model for Barack Hussein Obama’s policy positions, wrote a book titled, “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid.” In that book Carter wishfully notes, “It is imperative that the general Arab community and all significant Palestinian groups make it clear that they will end the suicide bombings and other acts of terrorism when international laws and the ultimate goals of the Roadmap for Peace are accepted by Israel.” Yes, imperative, that should do it. This week, Secretary of State John Kerry celebrated Holocaust Remembrance Day by asserting that should Israel not abide by his plan, it would become an “apartheid state.” According to Kerry, “A two-state solution will be clearly underscored as the only real alternative, because a unitary state winds up either being an apartheid state with second-class citizens or it ends up being a state that destroys the capacity of Israel to be a Jewish state.” Kerry soon backtracked, saying later that he “would have chosen a different word,” but he also insisted that he won’t “allow his commitment to Israel [to] be questioned by anyone.” The Obama administration has undoubtedly put intense pressure on Israel to make major concessions, and Kerry ratcheted up the rhetoric to unacceptable levels. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) called for Kerry’s resignation. But we’re still calling for his indictment for treason.
