Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is a potential 2016 Republican presidential contender, and he’s got a great conservative record to run on. But he may also have to overcome some recent troubles with Common Core, the Obama administration’s nationalized curriculum for public schools. Pence is an outspoken opponent of Common Core, and he saw to it that Indiana withdrew from the standards, but rather than going back to Indiana’s previous high standards, he allowed a modified, rebranded and arguably worse version of Common Core to take effect. We hope Pence corrects this serious problem for his own sake in 2016, but, far more important, it should be fixed for the kids of Indiana.
