The Department of Health and Human Services’ child abuse report contains a category that’s sure to raise eyebrows on both sides of the abortion debate. Ohio Right to Life writer Katie McCann observes that “the Administration of Children and Families (an arm of Health and Human Services) included ‘the unborn’ in its 2012 Maltreatment Report, where it analyzes child abuse across the United States. This inclusion is astounding if we consider that the very same U.S. government does not extend the right to live to the unborn.” Ironically, the agency is right to include our most vulnerable in its abuse report, yet the very same agency not only allows, but encourages the killing of the unborn. To the Left, life only begins when it’s politically convenient to declare so.
