EPA administrator Gina McCarthy thinks that not only is climate change destroying the planet, but it’s also racist to boot. She told a student group that black students are “most vulnerable to climate change,” and that minorities have been “overburdened by pollution and environmental health hazards for far too long.” Draconian government controls are, therefore, a matter of “equity.” She concludes, “Pollution is holding back millions of African-Americans fighting for middle class security,” and, “Environmental justice is social justice.” We suppose when all you’ve got is a hammer (and sickle), everything looks like racism.
