When the Benghazi Bombshell dropped this week, it sent the White House scrambling to cover up the cover-up of the cover-up. Long story short, a post-attack email from national security team member Ben Rhodes to then-UN ambassador Susan Rice and others laid out the goal: “to underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure of policy.” White House Propaganda Minister Jay Carney then had the stones to tell us that the email creating a political cover story for the Benghazi attack wasn’t actually about Benghazi. Carney insisted, “The email and the talking points were not about Benghazi. They were about the general situation in the Muslim world.” Sometimes even we’re amazed by the brazenness of their lies.
